Home of the
World's Most Infamous Margaritas
In 1966, three
sisters from San Luis Potosi, a vast Mexican city rich in tradition, opened
the "El Jardin Restaurant" on Chicago's blustery North Side (located just a
baseball's throw from the ivy walls of Wrigley Field.) Armed only with
a small grill, a tattered pool table and a treasure trove of delectable
family recipes, the sisters created a restaurant that three generations
later stands as one of Chicago's most popular eateries.
Translated in
English, El Jardin means "The Garden." From the very
beginning, the restaurant has always had an outdoor garden for
patrons to unwind, under the city's glow in a relaxing and
friendly atmosphere.
Over the
course of twenty-five years, the sisters kept busy over the
grills, while the restaurant expanded four times to meet the
demand of a ravenous public. El Jardin had become a
hot-spot for fun, festive meals and many family celebrations as
well.
Today, the
roots of the family tree have spread and third generations begin
to expand. Creating today "El Jardin Norte."
We offer a Carne Asada (steak) menu as well the world's
most infamous margaritas. Catering is available for
all sorts of special occasions and events.
El Jardin has
remained a family tradition and has continually prided itself in
serving delicious and authentic Mexican dishes, always with the
family's love for good food and great service.
